A Cure for Hiccups

Hiccups is one of those aberrations that interrupts a person's day and can be not only annoying, but embarrassing. When I was younger, there were always the TV remedies that you'd hear about--drinking multiple sips of water, a sudden scare, etc. However, I came across one fix for the hiccups through experimentation, and for myself personally, it's always worked 100% of the time. I even suggested this method to a friend who was having the problem. It sounded overly simple, and he didn't believe the cure would work--but it did.

What you do is take a deep breath and hold it for as long as you can. Then, SLOWLY (this is the important part), exhale until you've let all the air out. Then wait a few seconds. It's at this point that you may notice that the hiccups are gone. Perhaps this won't work for everyone, but it has for me, and the few others to which I've passed along this bit of info.
